Our charging arrangements

How we charge for our work is underpinned by fairness and building trust with our clients.

We’re flexible in how we charge and will package our fees in a way which suits you. There’s a whole range of options we can explore with you (such as hourly rate “pay as you go”, fixed fees for certain projects, annual retainers and pre-paid discounted hours). We also offer reduced rates for charities and not-for-profit organisations.

The total cost of using our firm to provide employment law advice will vary considerably depending upon the type of advice required and the extent to which a client may need our services. We base our charging arrangements around standard hourly rates and then provide clients with varying structures for purchasing our legal services, to meet different client needs. Where appropriate, we agree estimates and caps on our charges.

Our current standard hourly charging rates is £285 per hour plus VAT, but we reduce this to £265 per hour plus VAT for not-for-profit organisations.

If you would like more details of our charging arrangements or an estimate to support you with a particular matter, please get in touch.

There are so many different types of matters and projects that we might deal with for clients, so it is difficult to give more specific estimates or details on this website.

If we are instructed to defend an employment tribunal claim the procedure is standardised and we are able to give a little more detail of what those costs might be. We have therefore set out a general indication of the range of our costs and the types of steps in the process that might impact the level of those costs. Please see here for further information on this.
